On Saturday Skinny and I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Melbourne "Pass the Passion on" photography workshop at The Stables at Como House. The workshop was hosted by Chantelle from Fat Mum Slim, a very well known Australia blogger (ever heard of the FMS photo a day? yeah thats her!) and Rachel Devine of Sesame Ellis. Olympus sponsored the event.
The grounds of the Como House were spectacular and provided a lot of beautiful backgrounds to photograph. Skinny was itching to get his hands on one of the olympus kids cameras, he had to wait a little bit as Rachel took us though some of the basics of photography (he busied himself with the lolly bag while that part was going on!!).
Skinny loved his camera, and was only slightly disappointed that he did not get to play with the model that has a drop down screen so that you can see yourself when taking selfies. He had the most adorable serious concentration face when he was taking photos! I also got to play around with an Olympus OMD camera (not sure exactly which model sorry). It took a bit of adjusting as I am now so used to my 6D, all the photos turned out really nice though. They have not been edited, except for adjusting the brightness on a few of them.
My biggest take home from the workshop was to say yes to your kids when they ask to take your photo. After all, we expect them to do the same for us! And in that spirit I said yes to all the times he asked to photograph me, and he managed to get a lovely one of the two of us together!
Maybe Santa is going to have to come up with a new camera for Skinny ......
